The theme was "Spiders".
I am NOT a fan of them to say the least.
I'd be one to say, "The only good spider is a dead one." No joke...
Any way, I set aside my loathing behavior and we set off to Michael's to find art supply's. We got what we needed and headed home to "Create".
My first mistake:
I had an idea of what her spider should look like, but I failed to ask her what she wanted it to look like.
I had this great idea of this ugly hairy thing, but she told me she wanted it "Pink".
"Pink?" I said. "Spiders are not pink."
My Second Mistake:
Crushing my daughter imaginational gift. Not a good idea.
To save myself and reassure that my daughter's idea was great and can make anything she wants, I searched my heart and told her that she could make it any way and any color she wanted.
So she made her gorgeous Pink spider.
I think she's a proud mother of her first spider.
Oh... I had to do some research on Eye Orientation to make it more believable.
I think it's pretty close.

Average dinner time play.

I've never seen a more beautiful spider (Megan's, that is....)! No offense Christi, but I would squish yours! A little too authentic for me! And the picture of the actual spider eyes truly gave me the heebie jeebies!! ha!
No wonder you want spiders dead-you're researching how they look magnified by a bazillion! That's gross, and I don't even have a problem with them! I think if all our spiders looked like Megan's, they would be our favorite "buggy" thing (maybe even "dethrone" our love of ladybugs!)
My sweet little Pixie girl, I love your spider! You did such a good job!! Robert, your spider is gross! Yuck Yuck Yuck! Good job Megan, Rah Rah loves you!
I just adore the princess spider! If the spiders at my house looked like that, I may not have to kill them all! :-)
OOOOH. Nasty, icky, spider! I like the pink one better. I'm like you, though. Scientifically correct for the school project. YUCK YUCK YUCK! Megan's is definitely the keeper. Let Josiah smash the other one, ha!
